How long does the process take? When both parties are co-operating, it can take as little as 4-6 months to obtain a divorce. Is there a court fee to pay? Yes, you must pay £300.00 to the court when you send in your divorce petition. Do I need any other documents? Yes, you must also include an original or certified copy of your Marriage Certificate with your application. Does it matter that my spouse lives overseas? No, as long as you are domiciled or resident in the UK and you have an address for your spouse, you can apply for a divorce in the UK. Will I need to travel to your office?
