If you were married in the UK and do not have your Marriage Certificate, you can obtain one without too much expense or hassle from the General Register Office. Alternatively, you can go to your local office where the marriage was registered. If you were married overseas and do not have an original marriage certificate, it is generally possible to obtain one from the relevant government office in that country for a small fee. Please note that if your marriage certificate is not in English, it will need to be translated for the purposes of obtaining a divorce in the UK. |
