Once you have made the decision to separate, you may need to consider how any property that you own together is held. If you own a property as Joint Tenants, your share will automatically pass to your partner in the event of your death. For many, this is appropriate, particularly where children are involved. But sometimes it is the last thing you would wish to happen! If you don't want that to happen, you can sever your tenancy so that you hold it shares, usually 50:50, or unspecified. Once you have done this, you are free to leave your share to anybody you please under your will. We can help you with this for only £45.00. |
